Ingredients — A Dinner Series gathers guests around some of Hawai‘i Island’s local ingredients, thoughtfully paired with wines and cocktails and shaped by Executive ChefGeorge Gomes Jr. and his team. Taking place on the last Friday of the month, each event features a new tasting menu built around a different local ingredient. The series unfolds oceanfront at Honu’s on the Beach, the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort’s signature restaurant, just steps from the sacred Ahu‘ena Heiau, which was restored by King Kamehameha the Great in 1812. Throughout the evening, guests can reflect on the royal Hawaiian history it represents while enjoying dishes rooted in the flavors and traditions of Hawai'i Island. As the sun sets over Kamakahonu Bay, each course is prepared and introduced tableside, offering insight into the cultural influences, distinctive ingredients, and stories behind every dish. By the final course, a single ingredient has run the length of the menu.
