Situated just north of the number one beach on Oahu, Lanikai, Kailua Beach Park is one of the largest and prettiest beach parks on the island, and offers lots of shade, restrooms, showers, picnic pavilions and tables, beach volleyball courts, BBQ pits, and lifeguards on duty. Because of the calm waters and small shore break, this beach is popular for activities such as boogie boarding, swimming, kayaking, stand-up-paddle boarding, kitesurfing and windsurfing. Every year the beach lights up with spectacular fireworks display on the annual fourth of July event.
