Mauna Kea is an amazing place from which to view atmospheric optics and sky phenomena. These sprites are very exotic but in just the last 24 hours we have had crepuscular rays, anti-crepuscular rays, glories, Moonbows and rainbows. In addition the full Moon rose through the apex of an Earth shadow last night. Come join us for the best show on Earth and stay for the amazing night sky.

Maunakea Summit & Stars Giveback Experience IS BACK! Every Wednesday, join us to Mālama 'Āina and venture to the Waikoloa Dry Forest for a conservation project to help restore a critical Hawaiian habitat before ascending to Maunakea for sunset and stargazing. In 2023, Hawaii Forest & Trail guests along with Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative volunteers collected a combined 13 lbs of seeds (equivalent to 8+ million seeds)!
